Oil Change with Delets

Me Dodge needed it's oil changed every 3000 to 3500 miles. Now that it is deleted I have 3211 miles and no message. Did my smarty turn off the message?

The newer Ram's have a change interval of 7500 miles and I think the '13's have increased to 15,000. If you were to run Amsoil with a BMK-21 system you could stretch that out to 25,000 miles. With oil analysis you could go up to 50,000. I think I would draw the line at 50K though.

My last oil lasted for 15000 miles, the oil barely changed color and clear. I was running 0W40 shell rotella at the time.

Thumbs down

that sure would be nice to have...but mine comes on at about 3100 miles, and has at least 5% fuel dilution in it.....normal per fiat..

If you are deleted the oil change interval will be extended. No EGR happening and fuel entering the oil since you have deleted and the Regen process is not taking place. You will still get a message telling you to change but this maybe around 6500 to 7500 miles. At least this has been the case with my truck since I deleted back in early 09.

any oil tests done after deletes? I'd like to see the fuel dilution specs. I'm looking for a leftover stock exhaust to keep as stealthy as possible, but $1000 is NOT drawing me in...

My erg is off and deleted my oil change reminder is working now? This weekend I will change it just for my piece of mind. Then I will watch and see. I do not think I will let it go over 5000 miles. I am using a syn blend oil and a Dodge oil filter.

I have had three oil samples since I deleted. They are taken every other oil change since I established a base line. I am looking for trend analysis to watch for variables if the parameters have changed. My fuel dilution has read for the last three less than 1% diluted which I am happy with.

Im runnin Rotella T and the Mopar filters.

I change it every 5K miles like clockwork, and just ignore the warning light.

With the AMSOIL 5w-40, I went nearly 18k miles and one year, often running pretty hard, never any issues. Before I switched to AMSOIL CI-4+ 15W-40, I had an oil analysis done, the results were amazing, and had I not changed the oil after the sample, I could have continued running it. No bypass filter required, though I would definitely put one on if my annual mileage reaches 25k or more.

I think I posted 2 oil test results over on "The Oil Thread" if you want to see the results. One is from the oil I went about 18k miles on, the other is with the ci-4+ 15w-40 after I believe 4k miles. I just rolled over 55k miles so I will be doing another sample once I get more tubing for the oil analysis pump.

Here is the link to that thread: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=307377

I get oil changes at Dodge for $53 OTD. I do mine every 3k, I wouldn't wait any longer than 5k unless I absolutely had to.
