Ok, I am computer stupid and have been unable to figure out how to update my Smarty Jr. I have used the Smarty Update for Dummies tutorial and was too computer stupid even for that. Anybody on TDR in the Tallahassee FL area that could help me figure this out? Any help is appreciated.

he is running vista and having a conflict with winzip vs 7zip. seems like winzip is trying to be dominate. we got the drivers etc loaded over the phone but winzip is being a pain in the rear.

if there is anyone close that can go over to Jims place and get him rolling that would be SWEET!

Ah.. I see.. Nice.... Winzip is a con job. I used it for years, but now that I got 7zip for free, out it goes! Good Luck..

I would uninstall winzip if it was me. You can get a good uninstall cleaner program for free at snapfiles.com.

I did manage to uninstall Winzip but my computer still doesn't seem to be able to recognize 7zip even though it seems to have installed successfully.

Do you have any recommendations on their site on which one I should look for?

most apps (winzip/7zip) you can just open from the start menu and in the app open the file that you want to open.

Here are the instructions to change file association.

you want to find the .zip file extension and "change the program" to 7zip.

Is it a 64bit windows Vista system? If so, that could be the problem. Also might try running program as adminastrator. Just a guess?
