Mini-Maxx and 2012 6.7
Mini-Maxx and 2012 6.7
First 300 miles with mini-maxx on my 2012 with 12000 miles.
Milege increase from 15-17.7 at 65-70. Truck runs great, little nerve racking during the download. Thanks Lary.
When I got home I wonted to see if tuner blocks egr. I removed crossover tube. To my surprise exhaust gases are coming out of EGR cooler area and on the EGR valve assembly strong suction is present.
My question is, do I need to delete crossover tube and use block off plug to get complete egr elimination or this is normal with H&S minimax and some exhaust gases are allowed back into the intake.

Thanks for reply. H&S tech indicated that I have to remove DPF from the truck first before that tuning is installed and then EGR system is disabled. What would happen if tuning is installed but stock DPF is still on the truck? EGR is not working, less soot, DPF disabled, why remove DPF?

With the regen functions off, and the still DPF in place, its just a matter of time till you choke that thing to death. The DPF WILL PLUG.
Not trying to be smart a.., but has anyone tried running full delete without removing DPF on stock power setting. The reason I'm asking is that my 98 Vw TDI yes slightly different system (ie size) but my EGR disconnected 300,000 + miles and exhaust system still original and no problems.

With the EGR disconnected the regen function will still take place, albiet at less regular intervals.
With the truck programmed for deletes, the EGR system is shut off, and the 4th injection event, which is the catalyst for regen, is disabled. Ergo, you still have a DPF there, catching soot, but nothing to burn it off. Your truck will get so constipated it will go on strike.

No I don't. The truck is new and has warranty. I usually do two trips to Florida every year on vocation and if I remove DPF and something happens on the way. I saw your picks on DPF removal and it looks like something that can be done in your own garage not in the field.

Might as well go ahead and do it right.
