Blake, tell Len, that you know me and see what happens. I think I bought four manifolds this year. You can have the manifold done any way you want. I bought mine all straight. Nice piece that T-4, Steed does awesome work. I have to drop off some duramax stuff. Been wanting to get an external gates put onto an aftermarket manifold. Been way to busy this year to drop by

Race cover suppose to add 5-10lbs/min of flow and cost $300 more over the standard cover. To me its just hype. Going to have to run a 90deg elbow to be able to get the stock turbo to intercooler tubing to work. We have a few S471 and S476 on a few 5.9L trucks EFI live sure makes those bigger turbos more streetable than what we had previously.

The Fleece kits comes with everything. HX40, new CAC, boots, intake, aFe dry filter, oil drain line and feed line, gaskets, Steed mani... entire bolt on swap.

Ive seen tale that the race cover will help spool it a bit quicker... Whats your take on that.

How much$$$? I bought mine for $1100 each, so I bought two units. Sure going to look sexxy combo with that Steed manifold. The trick is buy the turbo as a super core and buy the turbine housing by itself. I think its going to be a hot seller for borg warner, as its priced decently.

Installed package deal, that isn't to bad. I'll probably be around $1800-2k mark. The suncoast trans race unit is pricey. I have a few spare transmission available. I build my own cold air kit, so I can save some bucks. I'm probably at some point just going to build twins for the truck. The crazy thing is you could very easily make some big power with the 6.7L stock, just you'll need rods. The G56 limit is around 1600-1800ft*lbs mark, heard that a G56 billet case is now available.

Yeah, Im not gonna push it too hard. Might do a rod swap next year some time. Peened 12valvers would be nice.

A Gorilla 56 would be too. There goes another 6 grand or so....

Hey Mike

Do you think a billet turbo for a daily driver is worth the 800 dollar price tag?

Just talked with Rip Rook and they have a package they are putting on the market. Everything needed to for a 2nd gen swap, steed mani, and a standard cast S466/83 .90 (actual measurement on it is 65.7 on the inducer he told me) for 2300 bucks. Billet is 3200.

I thinks Fleeces setup is slick, but an extra 1500 bucks is sure a big price tag. Lot I can do for 1500 bones.

What say you?

Here is pictures of a S467/0.90 T-4 74mm turbo vs. a S366/T-3 0.90 74mm turbo

Its going on a 03 CR 5.9L Steed speed manifold, the engine has a colt stage 3 cam, hot street port job (intake removed), 200HP SDX injectors.

My price is around $1400, $1159 for the turbo with a 1.1 and $250 for the 0.90 exhaust manifold. If anything this turbo will be more streetable than the 83mm, with the 74mm turbine exducer.

The BW pt# is 178855 with a 179174 turbine housing. Right from BW its has a race face and a billet compressor impeller.

I dropped off my spare 6.7L engine last week, hopefully I get it back next week. Been looking at running the QSB 6.7L pistons in that build.

Really that turbo should be cheaper, bought a few S471/83 last year T-4 1.1 for $950

Well just the turbo is a bit over a grand. Thats for the cast S466. The billet version is 800 bucks more. Fleeces version, which I am assuming is some custom work, is 2300.

Im just trying to figure if the cast vs billet is worth the extra money.

Blake, are you getting an exhaust manifold, down pipe as well? I bought a S476LI T-4 0.90 83mm (billet wheel), race cover, for $1760, that was four months ago.

I would say the BW 178855 is tons of turbo. Its nearly 90lbs/min, a S475 is 105 lbs/min. You'll make more power and have less drive pressure running the 83mm, buts its gonna be laggy. Heck the S466 I took pictures is going to laggy. I'm sold on twins myself. I have to omit, once that big turbo lites its a fun fun ride. With a stick, big turbos aren't as much fun as an auto with a decent stall speed on the converter.

Yeah Mike this is the two kits Im looking at.

Source has this

http://sourceautomotive.biz/67lsingl...ersionkit.aspx

With a off the shelf S466 (cast) for 2300. Billet for 3200. (Turbo and install goodies, mani etc, included in both of those prices)

Fleece has this

http://www.fleeceperformance.com/pro...8886690a4.aspx

With there custom S466 Billet that Caleb swears will outspool the stocker is 3800.

Just trying to decide what is the best bang for my buck. Dont mind droppin 3800 on the Fleece kit, Ive got the cash saved, just curious if it really will outperform and off the shelf BW cast wheel turbo or if its a waste of money.
