I am trading up to a 2014 Longhorn Mega Cab that does not have the high mount camera. I have a fifth wheel and use it alot. Does anyone know if the high mount camera can easily be installed? Is the wiring up in the headliner, is it as simple as swapping out one third brake light unit for the other?

 

You sure it doesn't have a bed camera? My 2014 SLT bighorn has it. Hard to believe a longhorn doesn't.

 

if the new truck has one in the tail gate from the factory, you can not just add a camera and it appear on the screen due to the factory one having priority and taking over. I wanted to do one on mine for the same reason when hooking up to the 5th wheel. BUT you can buy a Lockpick v5 http://www.coastaletech.com/MYGIG.htm and have this capability. I have V4 and called them and they told me they have tried everything imaginable to make it work so this is the reason they came out with V5.
