H&S and EGR/DPF question
H&S and EGR/DPF question
I was looking on the H&S site and it states the following:
*Comes preloaded with DPF Present and DPF Removed capable tuning
*Turn off the EGR system without removing ANY parts
Does this mean you can turn the EGR off and the DPF will still function? For me leaving the emissions equipment intact would give me less hassle at the dealer and/or DPS inspection (I keep hearing rumors diesel emissions test are coming - the ability to go back to a functioning emissions system without installing parts back on the truck for inspection is a plus). I just don't want soot fed back into my engine and the MPG increase is a plus also. Also, can this tuner be run at stock HP level and still disable the EGR functions? I want my engine to run clean. Don't want or need power increase as I have been down that never ending path before!

If you select DPF removed option, you have to removed the DPF/CAT. Everything under the hood can remain hooked up. H&S turns all that stuff off.
I never run the DPF present tune. If your worried about visual inspections, look into buying another DPF, and gut it. That way you can have DPF installed but not really.
I just run a 4in exhaust tubing from the stock down pipe to the stock muffler. All home made stuff, probably took me about 30 mins to do.
