Future purchase looking for input
Life is finally settling down job is stable bills are paid and I am tired of driving my old stuff all the time.
I am hoping to be in the market at the end of the 2016 model year to get a new rig been away from CTD since early 2008 when I sold my 2006
looking for input on configuration I have played with the online builder and such
I will be getting a tradesman crew short 4x4. now here comes my dilemma since I do have a wife who has to sign off on the truck and she says she will not allow a manual trans cause she refuses to learn. I know boo hoo whatever it is what it is.
So I am contemplating what to do so what are the real differences between the 2500 and 3500? From what I gather the basics are the 2500s now have rear coil suspension which makes for a way better ride and the 3500 is still on leafs correct?
And the Aisin is supposedly a superior trans but it will run about $2600 more on the total price of the truck and I will sacrifice some ride quality when unladen.
Plan is to get a travel trailer nothing huge but something 28-30' and I am hoping for this to be a 20 year purchase and not a daily driver tow rig 4-5 times a year and roadtrip rig

I would build the truck to the trailer you want to haul (and add a bit). If the 2500 with coils and 68RFE can handle it, get it. I'll be looking to move to a 3500, and maybe a dually, for our next trailer, so I wish I would have added a bit! Not to mention the 2500 TPMS can be a PITA since most folks don't drive an unloaded truck at max tire PSI for ride and tire wear.
Hey! Buy my truck and I'll move on up!
