Filter back 5" exhaust
First off, unfortunately,
I CAN'T DELETE YET...
I have a very sticky dealer when it comes to warranty and they're the only one in town. I want to do deletes but am waiting until at least the end of summer.
Has anybody installed, or seen a truck with a 5" DPF back exhaust? I understand it won't have any power gain but going up to a 5" with no muffler for the tail pipe section should in theory have a nicer sound right? I'm going strictly for looks and sound at this point. I've heard pulling the muffler and staying with the stock 4" makes zero difference If anybody has some suggestions or insight I would greatly appreciate.

I like to fly under the radar so to speak
but... I also kept all the bits that were causing problems just in case for what ever reason I needed those problems to return. I kept the factory down pipe to make life easier also. The turbo is a 4 inch outlet into that factory 4 inch down pipe so there is your restriction at the turbo. So long as you do the CCV delete (less than $2) the turbo should last awhile and it works well.
TBH I would wait to see IF you can get through the winter with the truck stock..just saying. If you HAVE to delete your plans will change.

I don't quite follow, what is a CCV delete? Why would my turbo not last awhile? And if you're referring to the DPF giving me winter issues, I try to drive it like I stole it at least once a week and haven't had a regen warning in my first 20,000 km's and I idle way more than I should.

Indeed I have. Still working up north in Alberta though. I did some reading on the CCV, once I read the first words I figured it out. So, did you just plug the line or completely gut the filter housing and leave it to atmosphere? I looked at a kit glacier diesel has and I could easily do it there way for about 10 bucks with the crank filter and hose elbow.
I just used a plastic 1 inch plug into the intake, recently Blake posted a pic of his steel one same as mine but plastic doesn't rust. The hose coming from the crank case I removed and replaced with 3/4 inch heater hose and ran it over to the passenger side then down to the frame, more rust prevention.
I don't have a Egr cooler anymore so mine is quite open. My concern with using a filter on the end of the hose was the condensation might freeze.
