F1 Mach 7 vs. DDP "250" Back to Back dyno results

Well yesterday at the TNT Open House, I not only got to be the first person in history to wrench on dzlfarmboy's truck without his supervision, but I did 3 complete injector swaps by pulling my DDP's and putting in his Mach 7's, then back again afterwards.

Dyno sheets are self-explanatory, you can see the differences in the different settings etc that we tried. The one thing I can't show you is the smoke levels. I took the truck for a short blast up the road before each set of pulls to warm it up and get a good picture in my mind of the smoke output...the DDPs had considerably less smoke at partial throttle, about the same at WOT-before full boost, and then at full boost the Silver Bullet cleaned them both good. On the dyno the DDPs also smoked less, and the smoke was more of a gray color, where as the Mach 7's rolled out straight black smoke...no idea why.

So in conclusion, I am very happy with my sticks and where they put me, they are making power right there with the Mach7's and my truck is still a daily driver, pulls a load (hauled my own trailer to the dyno day and sled pull) and doesn't smoke everyone out on the road. Is that 10hp enough to make me wanna switch to some Mach 7's...nope, surely not worth the switch. But now I know the difference, and have proved that the DDP's are a worthy injector that can be classified right up there with the best of the best.

If this thread turns south and guys start talking smack, I will PM the admins and have it shut down ASAP.

Nice numbers with the DDPs, are the 7s more geared towards nitrous?

some may say they work better with nitrous, dzlfarmboy added the spray and picked up 230hp with these injectors, but the 8's are the specially designed nitrous sticks per F1's website

No tst and no smarty actually made more power for 500 rpms with the 7's Must be the truck bogging down from the heavy fueling.

Thanks for the report, hopefully this will help ease the "wars" over who is better!

To each his own, they are both good products!

Actually picked up 260 on the giggle juice. Im thinking tne 7's are best fitted for a twined truck.

I did 678 on #2 with the Mach 7's and twins. They may just like a bit more air.

I'm not following your statement? both graphs on no programming look similar other than the 10hp peak difference.

It also shows the big difference the smarty makes for rpms...no smarty she wouldn't even turn past 3175 as seen by the vertical line on the graph. My goal when pulling now is going to be to launch at 3500 and hope it hooks enough to drag me down to about 3000-3200 keep her where she is making close to peak power.

I noticed that as well... Looks like the truck was begging for air on some of the runs both with the 7's and DDPs...

What he means is the truck is mking less power down low because the truck is bogging from not having enough air... Waiting for the bullet to catch up..... I'd be interested to see the same test with a good set of twins, even though they are supposed to make less peak power accoring to some. It would be interesting to see how the curves reacted to more air sooner.

No Smarty no TST and 7s was pretty impressive.

Ok, I see what you are saying now...but on the other runs with some sort of programming the DDP's seem to come on just a hair quicker...judging by where the lines are within the box on the graph for 250-500hp/2.5-2.75 rpms.

I can tell you that they both felt identical on the road when driving, not that 10hp is something you will feel, but spool up was the same, power came on the same.

The only other variable was the DDP's Sticks were dynoed with Honed cross over tubes and Mach 7's were done with OEM Cross over tubes. As some have seen that the F-1's dont seem to run very good with Honed tubes. Should have tried the Dpp's with OEM tubes to see the difference.
