Wink Easiest/Cheapest DPF/EGR Delete?

Ok, so I don't want to go ***** out like I did on my last 6.7, so what is a easy cheap way to remove the dpf and egr?

I know you can buy just a 4" pipe DPF delete section for less than $200, but what about tuning?

I'm not interested in adding power, I just want to turn off the regen and disable the EGR...

Any help?

-Thanks-

I just did mine last month. I got a delete pipe, boost and pyro guages, pillar pod and a Smrty Jr ME. Everything was $1,030. Call the DTR store and Lary will set you up.

I have only ran the Smarty on SW1 and it feels very lively. The biggest difference is improvement in fuel economy.

My guess is make your own delete pipe, or have a muffler shop fab one (leave the upper cat & downpipe in-place)= $0 to $50
Smarty JR = $500, some places less.

Total with shipping/tax/whatever < $600.

No gauges should be needed if you leave it at stock power, you can add them later anyway as your budget permits.

And no, I haven't tried the above configuration yet- but I am sorely tempted to.

Build you own delete pipe, I just used a left over chunk of 4in exhaust. Install resistors in place of the egt's probes.

Look around there are cheap dpf foulers out there. There is no need for a tuner any more.

Hey Redneck1, what are you seeing for MPG's now, hand calculated or EVIC? I am going to delete like you did but waiting a little bit for warranty.

But you'll get a CEL unless you run the H&S or Smarty, right? I assume the original poster doesn't want to live with that, nor the potential of reduced power from disconnecting the EGR.

Question

Will a smarty67 work on my 2010???

Everywhere I look they are listed as 07.5-09 6.7 cummins.

There is one for sale locally for a good price.

yes but, you can clear the codes with a simple hand held code scanner. Its not perfect solution, but its cheap. I would also have a few different set-ups for ohms on the resistor, at some point you would not be able to clear the codes, as the computer would think that there is some thing wrong with the frozen sensor.

The H&S has the best code free delete system going but that costs money.

Yeah but I can't find where ther is software to support the 2010 on the site.

I know they make a JR, but I'd rather have the s67me box.
