Deletes on Sunday

Well a buddy and I ordered the deletes for our trucks.

I ended up going with :

H&S Mini Maxx
Cat & DPF Delete Pipes
ERG Delete Kit

He went with

XRT Pro
Cat & DPF Delete Pipes
EGR Delete Kit
AFE Stage 2 CAI.

We are planning on doing both trucks on Sunday.

My questions is this...

I know we will lose some Coolant when we remove the EGR system, but what type of coolant is recommended?

I won't have time to get by the dealer to pick up the factory stuff, so does anyone know what kind will replace it?

Thanks

You wont lose enough to make any difference.

Top it off with a quart or so of water if needed.

get a 5 gallon bucket. cut the top 3" of it off (ring just above the handle) so you can get it out from under the truck. drain the coolant and when removing the egr cooler, be careful not to drain it all over the engine as it hold a crap load of coolant. the coolant you drained, with the coolant out of the egr cooler, will be enough (with a bit to spare) to refil the system. get the engine warm (operating temp) and make sure no air is trapped into system. put a blanket over the grill and set high idle with exhaust brake on to get it up to temp and squeeze upper radiator hose to burp the system.

Coolant

When I did my H&S EGR kit you will loose a little coolant but nothing crazy. Just top off with some distilled water and you will be fine. I think I lost less then a quart or so that was inside the EGR cooler itself.

Thanks. The EGR and cooler are the last my delete chore. I am installing the BD Power EGR delete and it said to drain the coolant.

No reason to drain the coolant, like the guys said just top it off after doing the cooler delete.
