Changes... Again
Well, Im back at it. Done started changing stuff again.
Buddy of mine is getting rid of his 07. Had a 4 month of MiniMaxx in it. Offered to even swap me for my Smarty, just so that whomever he sold it to would have a programmer.
Deal!

So, here it is.
My overly complex, ingenuously engineered, dashingly sophisticated, completely custom, one of a kind, MiniMaxx mount.

Im not overly excited about the looks of it, but its more a case of function over form. Its not horrible looking, but not as clean as I would like. However, it is the perfect viewing spot, easy to get to etc...
Now, here is Carlton's old truck. I was just in the shop and was gonna swap out tire with him. However I just couldnt bring myself to cut down my lugs for a 1.5" aluminum spacer. So, I ordered up a good 2" spacer from Fred Goeske and hopefully it shows up before next weekend. My truck was leveled with a 2.5 inch Rough Country kit and four new Bilsteins on Wednesday.
Here are the tires and nice stainless simulators that he has. 35x12.50 Interco M16s. My truck is gonna look good with them suckers.

And the tread left on em.

Not a bad deal, all six tires and the simulators, for a thousand bucks.

I wish one of these programmer manufacturers would pay attention to the look of their product and how it can fit into the cab. I mean come on, 50k trucks pretty dang nice interiors and our choices from H&S leave a lot to be desired in the aesthetics dept, smarty is the Nokia brick phone of the programmer dept. edge CTS is close, but still not quite there... Would love a sleek 'iphone like' display that mounts in a manner that pretends like someone took their time in placing/ mounting it. Screw gauge cups and window suction cups, overhead mount is not an option for most of us and is far from easily viewable for the driver.
Rant off... Your mount is an improvement compared to some I have seen but the plastic 'retro' mini max still takes away from the interior of the truck.
You know how opinions go!

I agree with you completely. I think an integrated solution would be awesome. Using the touchscreen nav would be a killer option, but, the programming would be very difficult to make that happen.
To be honest, I would like to see an option to use the EVIC for programming. Sure the display quality is not quite as good as the MiniMaxx, but you could have a screen that would display four different parameters in numeric fashion, just as the MiniMaxx does, without the little digital gauge read out. Changing the tune setting with the steering wheel controls, that would be killer. Totally integrated.

Mines in the overhead and I angled it toward the driver, this greatly improves the readability. I mounted my sons flush in the center dash area right in with the lower bank of switches, again we angled it this time upwards to improve readability. Both my son's and mine do not stand out and if you were looking for a programmer you wouldn't notice it. Options to consider.

Ok. Got tired of the MiniMaxx looking all out of place where it was. Decided to move it. Found a much better lil spot for it. A lot happier with where its at now.
