Aftermarket bumper.

So I have a ghost cel coming on since about March, it is PO26A. I've had it in the dealer about a dozen times and no one can fix it, now there going to replace the sensor on the intake again, and put a new fan clutch in it because it runs constantly with or without out a load an a/c on or off. They're hinting around that my aftermarket bumper maybe the cause of the light any one have any thought how a bumper could cause a CEL?

The inter cooler is mounted down low on the 2013/14's and if it doesn't get enough air flow through the inter cooler the intake air temps may be too high. Post a pic of the bumper installed.

So i went with this company because they have a gap between the grille and bumper to let air in, plus they have holes in the front of the intercooler and the open bars to let even more air in. I have friends with bigger bumpers that are tight every were and no air vents and they don't have the problem. However this morning I took the IAT sensor off the air filter tube and it was loose like touched the screw and it was wiggly, my theory now is because it only done it under a load was that when I was hauling it would let air out of the sensor o ring because if you drove normal it would go off and nver come back till I hauled heavy.

We are talking about the 2014 and not your 2012 right? I would say that the location of the license plate could be the problem, the 2013/14's have 2 radiators mounted one behind the other up high so the plate is probably taking away 1/5th the cooling. Try it on the dash and see if it still happens.

Wow I would have never thought about the plate blocking anything or if it did I didn't think it mattered. I'll take it off and mount it lower out of the way and see what happens! And yes the 14 not my wife's 12

My bet is it's not the bumper and they are just out of ideas. Take it off and see. Just a few bolts.

If you are talking about my son's bumper it's a Backwoods bumper custom made, he had a front and rear one made and they also supplied the LED lighting. I don't know about the OP's bumper.
