2011 wiring diagram help?
Hello,
I just installed a backup camera system on my service truck and Im down to the last wire. I need to find the reverse light wire that starts out somewhere near the parking brake pedal. This is used to turn on the monitor when reversing. The trans is a 6 speed manual.
I tapped into the reverse wire back at the rear so the camera would come on and that works fine but didnt want to run the wire all the way up as I figure it originates somewhere up front anyways..
anybody familar?
Thanks Vinnie

Pull your taillight and check for the wiring color at the backup light. Should be the same color at the kick panel where you want to tie it in.

Thanks Blake... Its a Cab/Chassis so the tail light is from Knapheide..
I cant get to the rail behind the tank without pulling the bumper assy off so maybe I will have to go to the dealer and ask one of the techs to look it up for me.

Ok.. got to love the internet.. Apparently the backup lights come off the TIPM circuit L1 and its a white/red wire. Now is this the fuse box thing on the left fender area by the battery?

Ok.. Thanks.
So when the trans (manual) goes into reverse it sends somekind of ground signal to the TIPM and it then distributes power out to the backup lights? Maybe there is a way to lift it up off its mount so i can find this white/red wire and verify it lights up and then bring a jumper wire into the cab to activate the rear camera monitor. I will check.

You can remove the TIPM without unplugging it. I has two rather large clips on either end of it. Look at it and youll understand what I mean. Unclip it and lift up.

Hey Airslide, I bought the factory backup camera from Dodge and I have a pdf copy of the installation instructions. If you want a copy shoot me your email by PM or to my email grporter@pacbell.net and I'll get them to you ASAP.
