2011 Smarty JR beta review
Gentlemen of the DTR, I hate to say this but my H&S was equally as impressive. What is the difference? Unless there are described differences, I see no reason to wait.
I was waiting for Smarty but chose not to. I am fully satisfied! But, if I can stack the 2 I will! Is that even possible?

Has someone answered if I can stack an H&S with a Smarty? I re-read the thread and I could not find the answer.
FOr The Record: I only promote H&S because it worked on my truck. I have ZERO dyno time and do not know my numbers. I WILL be buying a Smarty when available, have no idea how to load or use, nor how to get the H&S tune in or out depending on the stack but I will try my but off.
Guidance on the stack would be appreciated?

OR
you will find out really quick if they don't play well together. it would be wise to borrow a smarty from someone first and try it before spending the money

you can't. you will have to beg your buddy to offload it off of his truck then load it to yours to test. if it works, then remove smarty off your truck, give back to your buddy then order one up

obs is observed power (uncorrected) the readings on the left is corrected for altitude (we are a tad over 5000 feet and that day density altitude was stupid near 8k feet being 100 degrees out)
If you want to reliably compare apples to apples you would probably use the OBS power for RW power. Once you add correction factors and such, the calcs start to go out the window especially with an auto. Gear ratios, frictional losses, traction all make the final numbers look better than they are.
All in all still impressive numbers and it was interesting to see the change in the torque curve with the timing adjustment.
FWIW, I wouldn't bother stacking Smarty on the H&S. Don't see the point really as they both have their own ideas on what the performance is supposed to be (like the great timing debate). I know a few guys that poo-poo the Smarty because of "timing rattle".
Obviously they never heard an 02 CTD? Really each vendor has enough to overpower the engine so using one plus the other is just a battle that's going to cost you an engine. I figure, pick your tune and work around that to get to the end goal.
For me, I was getting analog gauges no matter what, so H&S didn't impress me at all (not readily available at the time either). I like the way MADS thinks and how they work with the engine so I made my selection. I am not against H&S at all, they have some neat stuff.

for me its easer to see what is really happing by putting it in a graph....so i figure I can share that
