2011 with over 75000 miles questions
posted this here cause of worried about all the exhaust and epa stuff on these new trucks.
looking at possibly a 4th gen 2011 used has over 75000 miles on it.well after reading how these things add fuel to oil and all the epa stuff on them it has me a little worried about buying one with this many miles, now on a 5.9L wouldnt hestitate a bit . but after 75000 miles and IF this is all stock what if any damage or how bad could it be.
i mean people that can afford new off lot are wanting to dump that stuff of truck before 20,000 miles! so what to you think?
truck is far away so if and when i see it( if they still have it when it come time) , it going to be buy it or leave it,

It couldn't have hurt it that bad. Several 6.7 trucks on this forum (and others) with over 350k on the odo and still have the emissions intact. Yes, disabling the EGR will result in longer engine life but as long as they kept the oil changed (about every 4k miles in normal driving mode) it should be fine.
If you are able (and since the warranty is basically up) if you buy it you might as well delete though. Better fuel mileage, longer oil change intervals and less stuff to fix.

Best way to see how much soot has been collecting inside, I would pull off the egr valve and the air horn. Take a look inside and see. Probably the best way to see how much reg's the truck has gone thru, is there color distortion on the air horn/egr line going from the egr cooler/egr valve. If its look ugly, then run away.
I deleted my 2010 at around 4-5k mark, there was quite abit of soot collecting on the heat grid already. I have my fingers crossed that the cylinder head isn't plugged up with soot inside too badly.

i take that as a joke not fully understanding these new models yet!!
there is no NEW programmers out there that you can buy right now to turn off exhaust functions, right? H&S are discontinued that could do that, i thought it was just smarty discontinued

You can still buy the H&S mini max street tuner you just have to get the High sulphur unlock code and it works the same as the old race tuner. Programming is the same they just changed the software so they could lock it down.
