Truck gets hot when towing
I have a 2010 6.7 mega cab, I was pulling my trailer and it was getting hot. so I figured it was the clutch fan like my other dodge did when it would get hot. I cant hear it kick on. so I had to have it at the dealership so I asked them to check it out. they checked it with the computer and made it kick on and said its fine. they also said the relay and the sensor is good. so I cleaned the bugs out of the radiator fins . pulled my trailer and still getting hot and cant hear it come on. don't know what to do know

What do you mean by 'hot'? I believe the Cummins thermostat opens around 208 deg F... At least that is where I typically see the temp begin to drop when it gets above 199 on occasion.
Edit:
According to Cummins QuickServe a 180 deg thermostat fully opens at 202 deg F while the 190 deg thermostat fully opens at 207 deg F.

That definitely is not good. I never hear mine kick on. How many miles do you have on it? Maybe your thermostat isn't operating properly or the water pump isn't doing it's job?
I recommend signing up for a Cummins Quick Serve account so you can get access to the Cummins Service Manual. You will need the engine code which is near the oil filter if I recall. There are steps to test the thermostat if you don't want to buy a new one.

Mine runs hot too. Dealer said it's normal. They said hammer down and don't worry about it. I have been and not looked back. The truck will start to defuel and limp above 235 until the truck cools down according to them. Never had that happen yet. Funny I've never had the trans get hot in all this time either. The 13 and up trucks got 50% more cooling capacity then previous model years.

We towed our 14k fiver from TN to Arizona (where we are now) beginning in September of this year. Truck is bone stock. Occasionally saw 218* on the EVIC for the coolant. Only time tranny seems to heat up is in town in stop and go traffic where we would see around 185 on the EVIC. Never saw above that.
