Transmission questions?

Hey,

I'll give you guys a little background on my pickup then i have a few questions. As of this week i have 36,000 miles on my pickup with no issues to date. I deleted the egr and dpf california style and i really like how clean my oil is and the little bump in mileage that i have gotten. I don't tow often, but the times that i have i have been more than happy with the 3.42 gear setup. Mileage wise i can achieve 19 mpg's going 70 mph. this is decent, but still not the 21-22 i have heard some of the third gen guys saying they get with the deletes.

Here's the deal. I have everything deleted, but run stock hp settings because i didn't like how my transmission shifted when i tried the "70 hp" tune with H&S. I do believe that if i used a higher hp tune and drove it easy i could get even more mileage out of it. Will i hurt my transmission? Should i buy the "overdrive" option? Do any of you have similar experience with this setup?

Once again, i love my pickup, but i ordered it with 3.42 gearing for the hiway mileage and i think i can get better. Let me know your opinions good or bad.

Thanks,

I have about 8,000mi on mine running the +120hp and the trany is still in one piece. If your on the HWY no worries IMO.

i've been running mine on the 120 HP (wild) setting for about 1,000 miles.

Honestly I like the way shifts.. especially when you get on it a hard... tranny skates through the gears...

of course i'm not hammering on it, but that day will come when i tow heavy with it...

might leave it on the 'wild' setting just to see how it does, if not drop it to the 'Mild' and run it there...

just my $0.02
