Transfer Case Leak
Transfer Case Leak
Just wanted to post this for anyone else's benefit. At my last oil change I was under the truck trying to grease the front drive shaft, what a pain in the A$$, but thats another issue for later. I noticed a bit of oil leaking from the output of the transfer case.
I took it to the dealer for warranty, which luckily it still was. They told me that the flange from the transfer case to the drive shaft has a weep hole drilled to allow water to drain out but the hole was drilled too deep and went into the transfer case portion. This was causing the oil to be flung out of the transfer case, albeit a small amount but losing oil is not a good thing.
Just a heads up for the 2010 to be on the look out for.
