Security of those big DRW

Hello, Ladies and Gents, its been quite a while since I've been here and don't know if I'm posting in the correct place. Long story short a military friend of mine lives in the DFW area and woke up a few days ago to his dually laying on bricks, and yes he doesn't live in the best part of town, (but a thief is a thief and it irritates me highly) but do they make any type of wheel locks for the semi type wheels because I have them on my truck and ill be driving a rental and carrying my partners Smith and Wesson each time I visit him. I forgot to mention his truck is a 2010 3500 Tradesman and I have a 13 3500 Longhorn Mega 4x4, Thanks any help is greatly appreciated

If you know the stud size (as i dont) you may find them here. If not google locking lug nuts. https://m.summitracing.com/search/pr...rd-wheel-locks

Advanced Wheel Locks ? Your Key to Real Security
I haven't used these but they look hard to get around.
My wife had all the wheels stolen off her SUV with factory locks on them. We installed gator locks but they can be taken off with out the key too.

One of the things you hate to accept is people are going to do what they are going to do. I don't like it either. One of the reasons I've stopped putting the padlock on the toolbox on the back of the truck. I don't keep anything in there most of the time. You certainly can't tell without opening it. I figure if someone wants in bad enough they are getting in so no lock means no lock torn off and nothing for me to worry about fixing. For all I know someone has already looked in it. Same with locking gas caps. There are many stories of folks having them then driving two blocks and their truck stops. Then they find the cap intact and a hole punched in the bottom of a $500 tank. I'd rather have $50 of fuel gone instead of a tank that needs replacing.

Maybe that helps, maybe it doesn't. Step one may be reviewing your insurance policy.

Pitt Bulldog tied to the hitch. And make sure he's hungry.. I know of a guy that runs a log chain through his wheels both sides. And padlocks it to keep the normal people away. But if they want your what ever. You will not keep them from getting them.
Years ago guy had a new 8000 lb winch (1978) stolen off his 1974 Bronco while deer hunting. Next weekend he was bragging they would not get the new one. I laughed and told him. Those boy's also have a torch. When he got back from hunting. The horns of the frame were cut off. And his winch gone also.
I told him who did it and where his winch was. He took the cops there got it back. But then he had to get the front end of his frame welded back on.
So like the above poster. I leave stuff unlocked also. Would rather they steal that $10. item. Then make me spend $500. to replace locks and stuff.

Pete
