Motor Mount Problems???

Considering the purchase of a new 2012 Ram 350 dual rear wheel to tow an RV. I'm not brand loyal and while looking at a Chevy the sales guy mentions Dodge is having problems with motor mounts wearing out on the 6.7??? He said it was a VERY common problem and Dodge considered it a wearable item so no warranty help. I used the search function but couldn't find mention of this.

Anyone aware of any problems???

I'll bet he told you Ford owns Cummins too.........
Haven't seen any mention of a motor mount issue on the newer trucks.
At least refering to STOCK trucks.
There are guys and gals out in 'Net-Land who are tuning these things up to rediculous levels.
Stock motor mounts won't hold up too well when you triple the designed torque output.

Stock trucks are what I was concerned with.

Every salesman I have ever dealt with bad-mouths the other guys. I cut them off pretty quick but if I'm gonna plunk down that much cash I wanted to check out every possible angle.

Honestly Dodge will probably be in 3rd place in my rankings despite their lower cost and the, IMHO, superior cab noise level.

Ford will be #1 simply because we have a relative that is working on employee pricing for us and if that fails I know someone who is GM of a local dealership.

Chevy would be nice for the Duramax/Allison (yeah, I know--- on a Dodge site ) but I can't see forking out the money they want vs the other 2 competitors.

Good luck on what you buy,I had a 97dodge 12 value with 800,000kms when I rolled it .98 400,000 06 has just about 400,000 ,07 has just about 300,000 ,11 has50,000kms and not a promblem with the engines.brakes and a little front end work witch is normal on all trucks , but I will say that dodge will out last ford and Chevy by far , good luck

I own a 2011 Super Duty and lets just say I'd prefer to drive my wife's 2012 Cummins. The Ford has 18,000 miles on it and it is the most inconsistent truck I've ever owned, one day it would pull a house down and the next it can't get out of its way. Not to mention the edit thing behind the motor they call a transmission, they almost all have shift issues and Ford doesn't have a clue what is wrong with them. A year ago when I bought the Ford my tune would have been a little different, but you can see how I feel now.

Buy what you want, I can get employee pricing on all three brands, but I'm going to be very picky the next time I pull the trigger.

Of ALL the issues Ive heard or seen with the 6.7, nary a SINGLE one had been motor mounts.

Congrats on the new truck, looks great!
