That 'lightning bolt' light is the ETC...Electronic Throttle Control.

Part of the foot throttle...I found this quick 'reset' info. If it continues to happen frequently you will need to replace the sensor ...part of the foot throttle assembly.

'Place you vehicle in the run position without starting engine and depress the gas(foot) pedal and release all in 2 seconds (1 down and 1 up). You should hear a confirmation "ding" if done correctly and you have now reset the sensor to know when you have open throttle.'

Hopefully this clears it and resets...let us know!

My truck is a '12 3500 and has the g56 manual trans and did this. I was driving with my foot on the gas and tried to drag the brakes a little with my left foot to clear up a dust squeak and the throttle slammed shut after a few seconds and gave a red lightning bolt. Is it possible that you were hitting both pedals? I've done it a few times now and it does it every time.

I always drive with both feet manual or auto and have never had it come up.

Driving with both feet is one thing, do you press the brake and gas at the same time very often? Give it a try and see if it happens?

Yes I do especially when maneuvering in close quarters with a trailer hooked I use both all the time almost every day lately, I find the torque converter just not always predictable enough so I'm using it more like a clutch I can control. I just thought..I am using a H&S mini so perhaps that's why.

or possibly speed has something to do with it. at or near idle it may be acceptable, but at road speeds it may not like it!

I just confirmed this. At idle or rolling slowly it doesn't do it, if you are on the gas and drag the brakes while driving it slams shut, power goes to near zero, loud unhappy turbo bark and lightning bolt. Probably not gonna do that on purpose any more. But now we know for sure!

WOW!!! guess you should not Drive Auto trans with two feet? Second foot left foot is for a clutch, no clutch? no need for left foot!
