The G56 boot fix

Hello DTR,

Doing an oil change this afternoon I noticed that my tranny seemed to be weeping. Uh oh.... Thats where that Gorrilla Juice smell was coming from.

Did a lil investigating, it seems to be coming from the top of the tranny, some digging and I found what seems to be a common issue.

Crap!

Called up the dealer, 108 bucks for that sucker. Not gonna happen.

Some DTR searching and I found a fix that others were using and figured Id put it to use and detail it out here for in case someone else needs the help.

Ran over to O'Reillys, got a Doorman universal CV Joint boot, part number 614-001.

Trimmed the lower section off and gave it a nice snug fit to the top of the shift tower.

A couple of stainless hose clamps later, and its good as new.

Great find, I'm gonna use that for one of my 4X4's, thanks Blake.

Did the same thing a couple years ago. Still holding up with no leaks. CV boots are way heavier than that cheesey shifter boot.
