The first time this happened to me I drained most of the DEF tank and replaced it with fresh DEF. The code immediately went away. It came back a few weeks later. I then got the recall notice, had it done, code hasn't been back since...BUT I've also switched to buying it in the jug, I don't trust pump DEF anymore.
