Get a clutch and a H&S and laugh at the formely HO guys that are now pretty much low output....
Torque management is the enemy.

The de-tune is totally clutch related. The put the dual mass, sissified clutch in so Joe Consumer who should be driving an automatic can get the stick and think it drives like a car. Even if you take it easy in stock form the clutch will eventually toast itself anyways, well be for it should.
That's why Southbend and Valair double and triple disk clutches are so popular, because they will take the power. However, they will chatter when sitting out of gear and they shift like a truck, which would scare Joe Consumer.

I went with a auto and 4.10 gears, but I will say it is not as good as a manual for pulling.
What really sucks about the manual is the clutch comes with a 12,000 mile warranty
And it is designed to fail
But the good news is Ram has been testing a new manual transmission, and I know it is being tested at more then 800 tq
Yes for years we (Chrysler) have been trying to fing the happy medium between function and capacity. The reason is pretty much stated above, they dont want some people to have to stand on the clutch pedal to get it to move. I have been very angry for a few years because I have to change them after people burn them up... We went through the exact same thing while testing the clutch in the manual diesel jk and mk.
Thank you.....
You guys are great for telling it like it is. The truth isn't always pretty, but it always works for me. It looks like there's a terrible matchup between a great engine and a sub-standard clutch assembly. Thank you for jumping on this with both feet. I appreciate the information and I hope that it helps others as well.
