Aisin tranny chirp
Brand new truck with less than 500 miles. Every time it shifts up to or down to 4th I hear a chirp. Aside from that, shifts smooth and drives/pulls fine.
Wondering if a "break in" thing or not.
Never noticed it on my 2015. Had 80k miles with no issues.
Thoughts?

A chirp or a squawk like that is something I’d press the dealer on quickly.
Its not normal
check color of trans fluid. Check engine coolant overflow for cream like foam as well.

To clarify, the "chirp" sounds like the trailer hitch squeaking on the ball or the squeaking of the springs.
Took the 12k lbs trailer 22 miles down the road. Heard it this morning with each 4th gear shift. Coming home this afternoon, did not hear it every 4th gear shift but about half. Unhooked the trailer and went for a short drive. No chirp at all without the trailer.
Will check fluid levels and color in the morning as well as call dealer.

reading other forums, seems this has been going on since 2015. Mostly the long wheel base. I never heard a chirp in my 2015 short box cummins/aisin.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
You have a nice truck with lots of warranty. I wouldn’t worry, I’d drive the heck out of it.
I’m sure in 99500 miles (warranty) left if it’s an issue it will show itself. Best of luck.

After reading the 20 pages of posts on Cumminsforum.com, seems this is a fairly common thing since 2015-ish with no apparent fix or concern from Chrysler/Fiat. My 2015 never chirped.
