wind noise

I remember seeing a post a while back about getting rid of wind noise. I dont get it when I am driving and the weather is good, but if it gets windy out, the front passenger door sounds like it is almost seperating the seal and pushing wind into the truck (although I cant feel wind inside, I just get all the noise). what was the trick to get rid of that?

My 07 mega with only 2000 mile on it does the same thing. I found that the top door hinge has started to come away from the piller by .050. I took it to the dealer and they sait it would be covered under warranty, and is going to the body shop next week. I looked at the pass door and when you open and close the door you can see the top hinge and piller flex real bad. I havent heard anyone else with this kind of problem. seems like a very cheep design to me.

I just roll the window down... sit on the front seat... and grab the top of the door... then pull towards you!!! Give it a few tugs in varying places across the top of the door... and then roll the window up and close the door... Tighter already!!!

Sorry for getting so scientific on you guys!!!

not to sound too dense, but if I am sitting in the front seat, with the window down, and pulling the door to me, arent I just closing the door? how does that change anything?

do you mean, try and tweak the door up? or down? in an attempt to put more pressure on the seal?

I remember that post and a guy said he ran self adhesive weather striping on the door itself. I think he even metioned 2 layers. I just turn up the radio.

Sorry... when I mentioned closing the door at the end I thought that would emply the door was open while pulling...

but yeah... I usually kick one foot up on the door and just yank inward on the top of the door frame... therefore when you close the door it will compress the weather stripping a little more and stop wind noise....

Go to the dealer and buy the new updated weather strip. if I remember correctly they are $17 a piece. also can have a body shop realign your doors.

the best fix for me was running a tree down the entire side of the passenger side .

no laughing matter it actually worked! I have no wind noise since that little accident. in fact my truck has never driven better, go figure!

They've been this way since '03. Really weak design on the door hinges. Maybe Dodge will beef up this design fault in the '09's

This problem has been going on since 2003? My truck has it as well. I HATE taking my truck on long trips.

maybe its not as bad for me as most, its only when its extra windy out. if it is a nice day out, or even slightly windy, I dont hear it.
