Wind noise from back passenger corner

Has anyone noticed an annoying wind/ outside noise infiltrating from the back on the quad cabs??..mine sounds almost like there is something open and i can hear road and tire noise..I have checked and there are 2 ''vents'' on the back of the cab both of which i have covered up with minimal reuslts..there has been some improvement which leads me to wonder if there is just some missing insulation or something behind the back seat or on the floor..it is very tricky to pin down and I have even added additional weatherstripping around the rear slider which made no difference...I guess part of the problem is the new truck is so much quieter that it stands out..on my old 12 valve i NEVER would have heard it..any suggestions guys??

I don't know what to suggest. I don't have any wind noise. Could it possibly be coming from the rear door window or door; bad seal or weatherstripping around one of them or something???

I have never heard this noise on mine. Suggestion: have someone sit in back seat and try and locate the area where the noise is coming from. Make this somone a female because they tend to have a more acute sense of hearing than a male. Does the sound change with the seat up or down? The rear seat that is, not the toilet seat.

Mine's quiet. I'm wondering if your truck is missing some weatherstripping too?

I've got a little of the same noise in my Mustang thats missing some weatherstripping.....

Re:Wind noise from back passenger corner

Hi guys
Thanks for the replies...I've checked the weatherstripping and all apears fine..the door is a good tight consistent fit..it seems to make the same amount of noise with the rear seat up or down and really seems to be coming from the area around the seat belt connection in the upper rear passenger corner..never having seen one of these apart i have no idea if there are insulating panels glued on under the trim ..one of which may be out of place or loose..for the time being it just has me stumped

Hey Vern, go stop by the nearest DC dealer and take a peak at a truck on the lot to see if its got some weatherstripping that yours doesn't.

Interesting that this came up. Do you have fender flares or splash guards? I notice my truck has wind noise that sounds like it's coming from the bottom of the cab. This happened after I installed a set of Husky Liners molded splash guards.

Interesting observation about the flares..I have bushwackers on the front and flaps and an extra wide strip that goes along the outside out the dually ..they were installed before I picked up the truck so I have no frame of reference of before/after..but it does sound like the noise is amplified from the right rear corner..It's noticeable after about 50 mph and even on my gravel driveway i can hear the tires on the rocks at low speed..under 10 mph...It so far has me stumped..to clarify..it doesnt sound like wind noise i.e open window etc. just road sounds creeping into the cab making me wonder about missing or loose factory insulation panels back there
