Wild Wipers

My wipres have a mind of their own. When I turn them on (anytime whether the truck is hot/ cold, rain or shine), Sometimes the wipres follow the intermittent time frame, and sometimes they don't. The wipers will continue at the same speed as the "low" speed on the switch. Then, they'll just stop- usually mid-stroke. I can even turn the switch off and they will keep going for any length of time. I have gotten lucky most of the time and been able to switch them off at just the right time and most of the time the wipers will stop at the bottom of the glass.
Any Ideas???

Mine mostly work, most of the time. Other times, it will swipe once, then possibly 2 or 3 times, then back to once like it should.

I hear it is because the motor is starting to go or the contacts within the motor.

Well, that would make sense. I've got over 3800 hours on her, so it wouldn't surprise me that the motor is going bad. I checked with the dealer and their guesstimate was the motor or the switch off of the steering column itself. Both are about $100 but i figured the motor would be easier to replace.

Mine do ab out the same thing and sometimes they dont work at all. If i move the steering wheel up and down they will work right for a while so i figure mine is in the switch on the column

Wasn't the multi-function switch recalled on the 06's??? I got something in the mail.... Check with your dealer or look it up online. I think it was recalled!
