Who makes 285/75/17 Load Range E rated tires????
Who makes 285/75/17 Load Range E rated tires????
The title says it all. I see a lot of load range D's, but I'm not finding 'E's....
And yes, I've read the threads about some of the D's being higher weight rated than some E's, but I'd like to stick to the E's.
Thanks !!!

The Toyo Open Country A/T's come in that size in a 10 ply E.

I'm after a little more aggressive tread so I'm thinking about the Open Country M/T's which come in a 295/70 E rated.

the BFG 305s are a good comprimise as they are the same heighth as the 285s only wider if you have to have an e rated tire alot of people making more of the E than is needed but to each their own
Toyo makes the Open Country AT/S 285/70R17's in E-rated as well. However, they are not available for the Canadian market and I had to get mine shipped from the US.
10 plys are very handy for turning a mesquite thorn....not many mesquites outside of Texas, though.

the Nitto Terra Grapplers in 295/70 are load Ds... but b/c of their larger size, the load rating per tire is identical to the Load E 265/70s Stockers...
So unless you need the letter E on your sidewall, the larger size Ds should be fine...
Am I off base here?

The E-rated / 10 ply tires have a stiffer sidewall and less flex during cornering - this is more important for towing than empty driving.
The 295's are wider when considering that comparison. With a greater footprint, it is understandable that handling would feel / be better than the 265's.
