What to do about radio
Hi all,
My truck has the stock radio with the single disk player. It sounds slightly better than an old AM radio at best. My old Dakota had the RAZ code radio and sounded sooo much better. I'm not a freak about aftermarket sound and I was perfecly happy with the Dakota's stock sound system but terribly disappointed with the big truck's. I'd like to maintain a stock look; is my only option to buy the RAZ radio or are there other solutions available? Suggestions?

The aftermarket radios look preety nice in or trucks. If you would like pics PM me . Trust me Im not the "Dude I need bass and it needs to be house shaking" like I was years ago. You can get a sweet **** aftermarket with remote (helps to keep eyes on the road) from wally world for $200.

You may want to try fiddling with the tone controls before replacing the radio. I think if you boost the mids and turn down the bass you get addequate sound... but its been awhile and that may have worked for 05s or 06s. Someone posted settings maybe 9 months ago that work very well.
Typically the first place to start improving sound is better speakers.

My truck has the OEM radio with the nav system. It sounds horrible as well.
I had a rear a-v system installed yesterday for the kids at the local radio shop. He inmediately recommended that I install an amplifier. He did not recommend any other upgrades and reassured me that I would be more than happy with the results
