Wackey Windows

Today with my truck idling and after hooking up my 5er I pressed my auto window down button and it didn't work my wife tried her side none of the windows would go down. I pressed the window lock button down and up and the windows still didn't go down. I shut the engine off and then restarted it and the windows work fine. Has anyone ever had this happen?

Scary....
same thing happened to me. I had the fiver hooked up last weekend and I went through a toll booth. Pushed the down button on the driver side window and nothing. Tried the others and nothing. I had to open the door to get the ticket. Pulled away from the toll booth and drove a few miles and the windows worked. Sounds very strange to me....

Chief3510 was yor truck idling when you plugged in your 5er 7 pin plug? It must be something with that plug hooked up. I was thinking maybe a jolt of electricity going through the ECM. I will turn the truck off next time prior to hooking up my 7 pin plug. I wonder if the brake controller is on the same circuit as the power windows , I need to look at a syematic.

Interesting thought.....I always shut my truck off before connecting the 7 pin connector. I was taught at an early age to turn things off before plugging and unplugging them.

I hook and unhook my trailer all the time and never shut it off. I have never had a problem with my windows... Dont know what to say about that!

Most of the time including the day this happened I hook up the umbilical cord while the engine is running. So I don't think that is the cause.
