Mine rides rough and the rear end bounces too.

I put in the Bilstein 5100 and air bags. Suttle improvements, but the bags did help while towing.

I think the problem is the rear leaf springs are far stiffer than needed, causing this "bucking" problem.

Some of the after market companies like Lorenz talk about a stiffer rear leaf springs set up. Even if this is progressive, not sure it will reduce the bucking as claimed. I would guess that a lower spring rate would help.

I too want to reduce this bucking and not sure how to do it.

Now about the bouncing female glands... There are aftermarket upgrades for those too, aka "bolt ons" or twin turbos. Stiffer rates may actually help this problem...

What about the 1/2 ton springs? Will they fit? Has anybody tried this? I don't carry heavy loads, just do a good bit of lite pulling.

If you add 1/2 ton springs you would probably have to add a set of ladder bars also. I would think the axle wrap would be uncontrollable without.

Here's something to try and it's almost free. Lower the rear tires air pressure down to 45psi (if using the stock size tires). And lubricate the spring packs with motorcycle chain lube. Seems to make a difference on my truck.

I have a thought in a different direction from everything else that you have tried. This may not be even close but might be worth mentioning. If this is too far out I'm sure someone here will say I'm full of it : ) Does your truck have an anti-spin differential? You said this happens when going around a corner. Could the anti-spin be causing the rear end to not slip quite enough? This could cause one tire to "skip" just slightly and feel like or maybe even initate a slight skid in a tight turn. This was talked about a lot when the 2001's were new. My 2007 sometimes does this but it hasn't bothered me. I have noticed there are certin corners that do this worse than others. Probably due to road surface, slight bumps and acceleration.
I forgot to mention that the recomended fix at that time was to add a bottle of MoPar friction modifier to the rear end.

The 2nd Gens will do that if the clutch packs are tight enough in the Dana, but the 3rd Gens have AAMs w/Torsen (torque-biased geared) differentials, which in my experience grab harder in the corners - definitely causes more rear tire wear!
