This always just kills me. You put a lift on it and big tall and wide tires and start complaining about how it handles and rides. You just changed all of the suspension geometry, what do you expect. No, they can't warranty it. You messed with it. Bilstein sells a set of shocks for a leveled truck. That is the way I pointed you for a reason. Some of the other guys on here with modified 4x4 suspensions can help you get the ride you want. Just don't be unrealistic and expect the dealer to fix it. Plenty of them on here have upgraded the shocks and suspensions. Ask them for help or use the search function.

 

The only problem you are having is not the tires, not the front suspension but the REAR springs are to stiff for your liking.

or

buy a lexus.

He had the problem before the tires and lift.

That is why all the posts regarding the rear springs and unloaded truck. Even though I talked about learning to drive slower. With the added weight of my tool box the ride was even better.
I'm sure if he pulls the helper spring out of the rear leaf pack he will have a better ride he may also need to go to a spring house and have some made. The unloaded bed, and helper make the rear want to bounce all over the place through a rough turn on the freeways of California.

 

I realize that some of us don't buy our trucks for their load capacity, but for the brief periods that my Rams have been driven at factory curb weight, the ride quality and handling performance just didn't seem to be anything one couldn't drive around....

From what he descibed, it doesn't sound as if limiting leaf spring wrap will have any beneficial result.

 

My 3500 SWB is stiff, but compared to an older 3/4-1ton the ride is plush. They are mean't to be driven with a load which does soften the ride a bit. Also the fact that your truck is still new, which will soften a little once the springs are exercised. I'll guess and say that you bought a 3/4-ton truck because you haul something, as there are much nicer trucks out there for the 1/2-ton crowd (I personally like that Lincoln truck). The first time you drive it with a load, if you haven't already, you'll see the difference.

 

That's true - the much longer leafs in the rear spring pack give the 3rd gens a much smoother ride with higher load capacity than the 2nd gens.

 

I would like to give this one last try. I put on the new shocks, and a steering stabilizer and the truck felt like it was doing better. This lasted for what felt like a couple of weeks, and now the same old bucking bull. I know the roads in Louisiana are bad, but there has to be something I can do with this truck. The truck bucks so bad that when I am pulling my boats, the boats are getting beat up. I have been looking at the GM trucks very hard, and getting prices, but I really don't want to get rid of a four month old truck. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I don't haul heavy loads with this truck, has anyone changed out the leaf springs with 1/2 ton springs. Would this help?

 

I think you should just get a GM truck. Dodge trucks ride like heavy duty trucks, that's the problem.

 

mine bounces horribly too....that's just the reality of owning a 3/4 ton or a 1 ton truck.....I've had several 3/4 and one 1 ton trucks before.....the same story....although the short beds seem to be a little better....I may also try the new shock method to see if it improves.....I had 2 Nissan Titans previously to this Cummins Dodge.....they were both lifted and still rode like Cadillacs......just guzzled too much gas.....also the Titan's have a weak Dana 35 rear end that has been the cause of many problems.....but boy...they ride like a dream....
