I'll tell you how I do it...........I pump $84 into the monster then park it at home and commute with my Grand Cherokee! When I told my wife how much fuel I put in she asked, "how long is that going to last?" I told her at least through the camping trip we have planned in two weeks.

I'd rather be driving my CTD but I don't want 200 commuter miles a week on it.

I put my kit on 3 weeks ago. It is a simple concept, just put the vent at the highest point on the tank. I made it harder by not running more fuel out of the tank. The light had just come on when I did mine and it was fairly heavy. The 2 hardest parts for me were the large plastic collar that holds the float/ fuel pickup in the tank and the front strap bolt. I tried and tried to get the collar to thread on right. I finaly got a hair dryer and heated it up a little and then I was able to get it threaded on. The front strap bolt on the lwb trucks is right beside the center joint in the drive shaft and is hard to get to. I sawed the bolt off a little so the socket would fit on it better for reinstalition.
It was well worth it to not have the 15 to 20 min. fillups any more. I think if my tank was compleatly empty it would hold 40 Gal.

There is no limit on a cash purchase, they will let you buy as much as you want...

Bill how old were you when you got your ticket. A 1947 birthday and an WA ticket, must have been young. And like me never changed the call on an upgrade....

Does anybody know if they installed a vent kit from the factory on any later built 05's?? Im picking my truck up on Saturday, and most likely I will have to fill it b4 I get home. I was just wondering if the factory might of put some sort of vent kit in by now, since this has been a common problem, I have all the updated "problem" parts on my truck, but dont know if it might have a tank vent??

DC will not do this for you. It's not a "problem", it's an upgrade. If you want to be able to put in more fuel in less time, this is the answer.

Haulin_in_Dixie I was 29 when I got my novice ticket in 1976. Then less than a year later Technician. I have had all of the Ham license levels novice to extra.

I'm surprised, I got mine in '76 and got a WD. A couple of friends got WB at about the same time. I was lazy, got my novice, went a couple of months later, took the General tech, code and Advanced tech, did not go for Extra. I'm still an Advanced. I was Teletype in the Army though, made the code easy, did not have to learn it.
