Yep $5 or $6 bucks worth of heater hose works just the same.

Cummins parts sourced.

I use a Cummins technician here in San Diego that sourced out a kit for me(not the Enviroguard) using 12-valve parts. Next to zero drips on the driveway and supposed to eliminate oil leakage on those steep descents. The member using the heater hose seems to have the "econo" fix though.

Question

It's pretty straight forward to be honest.

Remove the factory bottle and hose off the vent on the front cover, slip a length of 3/4 heater hose onto the 3/4 nipple and run it to where ever you want.

There is a pic in my gallery that shows, looks pink, heater hose that runs up over the APPS and then straight down where it's zipped tied to the frame and exits just below and behind the front axle. No bottle or anything on the end of the hose, simple road breather technology.

I can't ever recall seeing a drip come out of in the 4 years it's been on there. In cold weather, you get some steam coming out of it but nothing else.....so far

Hope it helps, lot's of guys on here have done this mod in a similar fashion.

yaa I have read that heater hose will get very soft when used for oil, as opposed to coolant.

Heater hose will soften over time. Mine has been in 1 year and 3 or 4 months now and has softened slighty. I am keeping my on it. I am willing to bet the stuff will go maybe 2-3 years before I need to replace it.

I just ordered a new breather bottle and I'm gonna add a valve at the bottle with a small length of hose so I can drain it.

There is about 4 years on the heater hose I'm using. All that I've had to do was trim about 2 inches of mushy hose off the end. Other than that, it's just as good as the day I put it on.

Obviously there are different grades of heater hose. The length that I have came from NAPA.

I've been tempted to run the breather hose into the exhaust behind the turbo and see what that does. Still researching that one.
