Hmmmm I have a drop pitman arm with my lift. That should be fine correct? I wouldn't need the pitman arm then??? Also, would I be able to make my BDS dampener work.

I can't answer your question about the dropped pitnam arm--I don't know. The steering stablizer mounts on the tie rod differently on the new kit. That is what some people have been having problems with. They either have to mod the stablizer and/or the "U" bolts that hold the stablizer.

Seems like a lot??? I saw some people getting the price for the steering kit for $222/tax.

If you are going to pay $278 for the steering kit you might want to buy the kit from Source Automotive Performance. The kit they sell is priced at $300 but it comes with the zerk fittings so you can grease them.

I called them last week and it was 335$ and you still need to get the nuts and bolt kit for it. It is factory dodge that has been drilled, They drill the 2 extra zerks, because of it being drilled it is as is...... If it goes out next week no replacement from dodge. Also if they have another recall then you will have no luck getting it done.

I forgot to add you have the option to buy the steering kit with or without the damper. The price I mentioned was without the damper.

Steering Stabilzer Pics

Here's a few pics of the steering stabilizer I adapted to work, I used the u-bolts from the new steering stabilizer bracket and redrilled the bracket from the old steering setup.. it works but it's not the best looking set-up gonna try and play with the angle to help it out some.....

I have a 2007 2500 Mega...Never had any steering work done by the dealer. Can I still qualify for the upgrades? I have never experienced the dreaded DW, and I am out of warranty - 40,500 miles, but I would like the beefier arms if I am entitled to them.

Thanks guys! I dont post much, but I read a lot!

Had this have been last week before i took my truck in i would have just said yes bring it in and have them do the recall..... but unless your truck is in their system as being one of ones being recalled, good luck.

Call your dealer and ask them if your truck is one of the recall vehicles.. They will probably ask you for the last 8 of your vin to check. You can also check on Dodge's website if your truck is being recalled. I dont have the link (its on my work computer), but search "VIN" when you go to the website and it will bring up a recall page.

Good Luck!! I had none. Yes it's crazy to pay out of pocket for somthing that Dodge knows is a defect. But like I said I have a !500 mega cab and they looked at me like I was crazy asking them if it could be replaced under warranty.

You would have to pay out of pocket for the upgraded parts as replacement to the newer style setup is only covered under the 3/36000 warranty. The recall doesn't apply to you because you don't have the newer style setup on the truck currently. The recall only had to do with the early run new style setup. Your current setup predates the recall, and the parts you would get to swap over at your dealership are all the AE kit which is post-recall work so they are good to go.

It's even more crazy that the dealer wont replace the recalled parts that they had put on my truck back in Sept. Even after ahowing them the invoice with the part numbers of the recalled parts on it because, "your TRUCK is not on the recall list"....
