I found a light on a retractable cord from a cherokee that I'm going to install with a switch. Like the one on the 90 Chev 05HDRAM mentioned.

hood light

Just got mine today. Easy install, something Dodge should have put in to begin with. Even Geo's come with hood lights, sheesh.

I use a 1,000,000 candlepower spot light I got from Walmart for $10. Plugs into the 12v power port and is even brighter than a Mag-Lite!

I did add it. It was a while back, so not positive, but on my 04.5 SLT when I pulled off the console cover there was a small white connector to the left side above the cup holder. It was held in place with a rubber/plastic snap in wire connector. I believe that it was only a two wire (black/white) connector, only two wires on the light connector. Plugged them together, snapped the light holder assembly into the slot in the dash above the cup holders and that was it.

Hope that helps more than it confuses you, sometimes my explanations are less than perfect.

I had the center of my dash apart as mentioned, only wires I saw there were a couple plugs with about 4 wires in them, I assume they are for the heated seats and power rear slider I don't have.

I know I have wires on the firewall for the under hood light though.
So unless I'm looking in the wrong spot, I wonder if I'll be able to hook up a cup light? Seems weird I'd have some wiring and not the rest..?

Fisherguy thats just what i have in that spot. I went to the dealer to ask them about those wires. He asked for the last nine of my vin and told me that i dont have the wiring for the cup holder light. I know that i do have the wiring for the glove box light and the under hood light.

Talking Underhood light

I went to the junkie and got one from an old Chevy. These have the wound pigtails with a magnetic bottom on the light itself. Plus an on/off swith on the unit to boot! And the cost of $10.00 wasn't tough to take haha

As for the ashtray and or cup holders,I went to advaced auto got a 3 led light strip, about 1in long and had sticky tape on it,pulled the dash apart used a wire tester to find a hot wire that is controlled from the dimmer switch and hooked that up,stuck it uder the cup holders.

See if this pict helps any.

Sounds like alot but it took maybe 10 mins.
They have red,blue,green,white.
My fan speed ***** there are billit and have blue LED's glued in them.
