Trailer Plug, Turn Signal Not Working

On my 03 3500, I've been having some signal issues. The problem is my trailer left turn and brake light does not work, even though the tail light works. And yes the turn signal and brake light does work on the truck. So the way I see it has to be in the truck plug or in the wiring running to the rear of the truck. I've checked the fuse, alright their. I have also cleaned the connectors on the plug with contact cleaner. Nothing seems to work. Has anyone had problems with this. Thanks in advance.

$400 and some change if I remember right. I've done a few. Not a lot of them, but some. I also provide the service of routing the trailer circuits through dedicated relays so that the TIPM drivers will only see the amperage to run the relay thus preventing failure in the future.

What actually causes the issue. It's just not a loose wire or something.

Wiring shorts in the trailer wiring generally cause power distribution/front control module issues

this sounds like a problem found in the '06's. does the fuse block go out on the earlier years as well??? i had a problem getting turn signals to work at a rental yard with my truck. mine was just a blown fuse in the fuse box on the drivers fender just behind the battery on our '05.

06 & up use a totally intergrated power module-long words for a printed circuit board thats fairly fragile.05 & down use a pdc w/ seperate front control module(provides power)-more robust-but still can fail w/ bad short

I would take a light tester first an start on the truck and make sure that you have juice going back there or not. Check it right before the truck plug, then right after the trailer plug, and then right back by the light. It will be the yellow wire on the trailer and I am not sure if it is the same on the truck or not, ur manuel should tell you that. That would be a lot cheaper than $400 bucks!

I did take a light tester and made sure their was no power, like I thought nope. So I did take the tester see if the module for the fuse the the left trailer lights was getting power, and guess what is was. So simply stated, it is getting power at the fuse box. So I beginning to think it's the wire running from the fuse box to the plug on the bumper.

Now ck under the pdc,the trailer tow left side turn/brake wire is in the c1 connector pin 5 dark green/white-if no power coming out or no continuity from fuse to that wire-the prob is in the pdc &/or front control module

I had the same issue...
Cost $450 for parts and labor....
If you have to do it... Buy the part and do it yourself... It is just a plug and play module... no programming involved and you save quite a bit of cash.

Let's see....one part goes bad, so you install the same part "hoping" that it lasts. Pretty risky investment.

I Am Having The Same Problem With My 03 3500. The Right Rear Brake, And Turn On The Trailer Work Only When They Want To. I Thought I Was Going Crazy. There Should Be A Better Way Than A $400.00 Fix.
