tire size change

I went from 265 to 285's and have a smarty. i can change the tire size with the smarty but when i remove the program it goes back to the stock tire size which is a 3mph difference then actual speed. The dealership wants $95 to change the stock programming. is there a way i can get the stock tire size changed without getting ripped by the dealership?

I am also thinking of going to that size. Is there a need to re-program? With only a one inch dia change does it throw things off that much? Three MPH at what speed? I can live with that at 60mph, that would be 5%. How does it shift and the rest?

at 65 its 3mph slower. I dont like my speedo being off. And if you think about it, in a 700 mile drive (3/4 fuel tank for me) at a average speed of 65mph speedo (68mph actual) you will loose 31 miles on your tac. If you are hand calc fuel mileage every tank like i do, then i will be not calculating 1.5 - 2 gallons of fuel.

As for the size, it takes getting use to. The shifts are fine but the engine sounds weird at first because i am not use to hearing that sound at that RPM. for the most part i am use to it now. my ownly problem now is my TC doesnt want to lock up when in tow/haul mode. I dont know if this is because of the smarty or the tranny its self i havnt had a chance to do some tests. with the 265's i would hit 2k rpm at 67ish, now i can get to 75mph and be just at 69** rpm.
