Tire size vs Rim size

I'm currently shopping for wheels and tires. I think I want to go with a 16x10 wheel, my question is can I run 285/75 tires or will they be too narrow for the rims?

I run 16x10s with 285/75/16Es BFG Km2 Mud terrains with no problem at all.

You might want to have the tire shop mount one up before you commit. My current set is 285s on 16x7, the wheels are way too narrow, and I think a 16x9 would be ideal but there aren't many of those, maybe just MotoMetal? My next set will be 17x9 with 285/70/17.
