Re:tire size

There are lots of discussions on this subject. Search on tire size or just look around. You will find lots on information. This has been a popular question with plenty of discussion.

I copied the following statement. "Up to a BFG All Terrain 315/70-R17 fits on the stock 17x8" wheels with no clearance problems."

Re:tire size

Thanks. I've done a search and found lots about size but all I saw included lifts. I'm looking at the 03 HO and debating 3.73/4.10. I thinking that with 34s and the 4.10 my rpms would be in the stock 3.73 range and I'd still have the option of stock size and grunt pulling. I was just about asleep though so I'll look again.

I guess I should have put this in the other 03 disscussion. New to site and soon to be new to Dodge. Maybe Okiebroncrider would move it.

Re:tire size

???does anyone know if you can go back to 16" wheels for a greater selection of tires? I have noticed that 17" tire selesction is very limited in a heavy load range tire. Thanks.
Jason

My truck is at stock ride heighth and clearance is fine (at least 1" at full lock). I havn't pulled with it yet but so far its a good combo. Your right --- the 34.5" tires puts the 4.10 ratio back very close to 3.73.

Re:tire size

Yes --- My truck is 4x4 with the stock aluminum rims. I haven't been in deep mud yet but they seem to do well on muddy dirt roads and washes. If you can find it --- I posted some pictures back on November 27 that will show you how the BFGs look. Also, Utah has some pics of his truck posted on this forum with the same tire.

Re:tire size

They are the optional 17x8" aluminum wheels. I have the same, which are included in the Laramie package.

Re:tire size

I have a 2003 SLT SWB 2500 4X4 with BFG All Terrain T/As 315/70R17s on stock rims and have no problems. It has been off road in snow and dirt and has fantastic traction.

Re:tire size

LBT, how're those tires on the road? Do they make a lot of noise? How's on-road traction? I'll be interested in upsizing in a year or so when I've worn out the stock Michelins (though I already put a nail thru one of'm! :). Thanks!
