Tire pressure sensors

Is there a way to exchange the rubber air valves for metal ones on a 3500 Ram drw and retain the pressure sensors?

The ones I have dealt with are one piece. They cost anywhere from $70.00-120.00 so be careful with it.

There are two schools of sensors.

The one-piece units are very common, and have the valve stem integral with the sensor.

The other design straps onto the wheel in the center relief area, with a thin band. Either way works as well as can be expected, and if you can find strap units to work with your truck, go for it, that will allow you to change valve stems to anything you might desire.

word of advice. if you can stay away from the clamp in style sensors. they are all aluminum. corrod very easily and either leak from the rubber seal or just break off completely when you check your tire pressures.

stick with rubber TPM's that are a two piece design, reqular valve stem and the sensor screws on the bottom of the valve stem. way better design, last wayyyyy longer and less prone to leaking.

i change them on a daily bassis and deal with all sorts of tire pressure sensors.
