My 04 has started a weird vibration in the front, only happens on the highway and it comes and goes. I cannot feel it in the steering wheel so its kinda got me buffaloed. Is it time for new shocks? My truck has a kore hd kit with the bilstein shocks, anyone know of a good place to get them or the part numbers?
Also, has anyone used federal tires? My local shop in town has some of their MTs in 35x12.50x20s in 10 ply and I liked the look of them, just may have to pony up for the 20 inch rims lol.

At what speeds does it happen? I would take it in to get the wheels balanced. They may be off just enough to feel it at highway speeds.

 

Its actually at any speed over 50. I've been wondering about tires too but it comes and goes, isn't constant. I have been looking into new tires though, these coopers have just not been good.

 

Rotate the tires and see what happens. If it changes, it's a tire problem.

Get the truck up to 60-65 mph. Then put it in neutral and let it coast down below 50.

If the vibration changes, the problem is probably between the front balancer and the trans tail shaft (engine or trans).

If the vibration doesn't change, it's the drive shaft, differential, or suspension.

Seem like the most common source of vibration in these trucks is the drive shaft.

 

Drag link, UJoints, ball joints and tire balance could all be culprits.
