Those with NFab steps

Can someone post picts of how there NFabs are mounted? I got my 6 step NFabs today and those buggers are pretty heavy. I want to make sure I am installing them right before I start making holes in my truck.
My wife got them from 4wheelparts on thier black friday sale. I got the six step wheel to wheel shipped to my door for like 480 and some change I want to say. Now I just got to get the weather to cooporate and get a little time to mount them up.

I am surprised they dont have a bracket back to the body mounts to stiffen them up! Those steps look heavy. I would think they would wear eventually on the sheet metal where they attach.
I bought some aluminum steps and they had this. Stiff as a rock!

Did you do it by yourself? I know it was alot easier to mount them than what you are saying, but a buddy of mine and his son helped. I found it was not very easy to drill the holes on the pinch weld ether, we used an air drill and we were all tried by time we where done drillin all the holes.
I had my wife mark the holes while I held it, but I did the rest my self. I drilled pilot holes and my first bit was burnt up so I changed it out and was fine... my thing was even holding the bars up the marking where not centered. I had to "finese" the bolts a little so I didn't ave to elongate them to fit. I really dont see why they dont make a mount that will bolt to the frame... there is already holes on the frame that could be used, and it would make these thing so much better. I REALLY don't like the idea of drilling my truck, much less having them plus my weight hanging off them.
We installed a set of these on my friends 06 a few months ago, and I was really dissapointed with the mounting system and the low quality hardware that was supplied with them. It wouldn't be particularly difficult to fab a couple brackets that tie into the frame, but I would worry about the steps contacting the body while the frame flexed. Sharp lookin steps though, just needs a little more thought put into them!
The steps them elfs are manufactured great, its the cheapest bolts you can find that they use. Plus my pinch welds where not the same so they don't match from side to side. Your not going to notice by simply looking at it, but I know. For what they cost, they do not have the quality they should.
Use a floor jack to to hold the step tight so you can mark the holes. Also make sure you don't drill too close tho the bottom of the pinch weld. Coat the freshly drilled holes with rust inhibitor and swap out the cheap bolts with ss ones. The steps are plenty stout mounted this way but I had thought about extending a bracket back to the frame at one point but after two years see no need to.
I bought a set of the six step ones a few years back while down in CO. When I got home to install them I didn't like how they mounted either. So with a little help I got them suspended where they needed to be and made some brackets for them that go to the frame. They seemed like they'd be ok but I weigh in around 255lbs and really didn't want one of them coming loose with me standing on it.
