Alright.....just finished doing the tank vent via the Diesel Max kit. The instructions from Diesel Max are AWESOME.

A little bit of advice I'd give to anyone doing this....when removing the fuel lines on top of the tank put a zip tie around the tabs that holds the lines on. The zip ties will hold the tabs down in order for the quick connect fitting to be pushed up and then pulled back in order to unlock it. The zip tie works like a charm.

Can't wait to fill up my truck to see how much quicker fill ups will be...WOOO!!

I just filled up today....nozzle clicked off at 25.5 gallons (it wasn't on E, but I couldn't wait to try out the new vent) and I was able to squeeze in another .4 gallons and the fuel was all the way up to the top of the filler neck. Wish I would have done the vent kit many miles ago

So the vent kit allows you to increase the capacity from 34 to 39... not actually utilize the full 34...

The way I was reading this was the final 4-5 gallons were hard to fill, to acheive a tank with 34 gallons... I personally couldn't care less about tryin' to push another 5 gallons into the 34 gallon tank to increase the capacity to 39... but that's just me...

Nope, it doesn't increase capacity. It just lets you get the last 4-5 gallons in the tank a heckuva lot faster.

Are you able to get diesel all the way up in the filler neck and keep it there, or does it go up to the top and slowly seep back down?

I understood it that the '07 YM has the vent tube on the same place on the outside of the tank as the rest of the 3rd gens, meaning the last 4-5 gallons are slooooow to get in the tank.

I have only filled up about 4 times so far... so my experience is limited, but in the last fill up, I only ran a few miles when the light clicked on and I put in 31 gallons with no effort... the pump shut off, i squeezed it twice and it was at the top of the neck...

My point is, the light doesn't pop on when its empty... 3-4 gallons probably... I'm not experiencing this take 10 minutes to get the last 3-4 gallons in the tank issue...

When I did mine,I had about 4-5" of fuel on the bottom of my tank. I went to get fuel and I was able to put 37.5 gal. into my tank effortlessly. The kit allows you to use the full tank capacity and do it without standing by the pump tring to get more in.Without the kit you hit the overflow back in to the neck long before the tank is actually full.I thought the same as rocket before I installed mine and now have a new outlook. This mod is fantastic. And if you travel you will experience about 75 more miles or better to a tankful.

I cant wait to get mine installed!! I fill up 2 sometimes 3 times a day and trying to get an accurate MPG count and get the fuel to where I can see it is a pain! Plus being in ahurry and in the cold doesnt make it easy!

I want to install it when I put in my GDP lift pump.

I fill up twice a month on average... so the extra few gallons are probably not appreciated by me... but who knows maybe this summer I'll get bored and bolt this on for fun...

Ordered mine today, probably put it on in a week or two.

Ill enjoy the faster fillups and squeezing an extra gallon or two in(instead of sitting at the pump forever to get the last few in)

Is it specific to chrysler, or is it just like the universal fuel line and a/c disconnect tools?

Well, it seems to be semantics. What is the tank capacity of, say, a short bed? Is it REALLY 34 gallons? Or more? I've put 38 gallons into the tank on my short bed. So, what's the capacity? Apparenty DC says it's 34 gallon USEABLE. The vent kit increases the USEABLE capacity.

I went 825 miles on a "standing in the neck" fillup. Overhead showed 21.7 mpg. That calculates out to 38 gallons. On that tank, I went 100 miles with the low fuel light on and 50 miles with DTE showing 0. I bought my vent kit from the guy who was the first with 'em, Dave Kelley. It allows a quick fillup, whatever the capacity.

I will tell you that your DTE computer doesn't know what to do with the extra fuel in the tank. It's set up to figure for 31 gallons. Every time I've bothered to calculate it, that's the way it turns out. Fill up, then divide your DTE reading by your MPG reading. I get 31. I run at least 100 miles before the DTE starts to move appreciably.

From what I've seen on the "other" forum -
folks are getting 39-40 gallons into a 34-35
gallon tank. [And - very happy!]

But . . .it's a bit of work for the faster fill -or-
an extra 4 gallons.

If you live in Phoenix, you don't park your truck in
the summer sun after a fill-up.
