I ordered mine through GDP and got it about a week or so ago looks like a good kit brass fittings and such good direction but have yet to install it.

Questions for the ones that have installed it in my directions it says to drill a hole (15/16") Now how are you doing it? Just drill it? what about the plastic shavings? Thats my only concern right now otherwise seem pretty straight forward.

Take the pickup assembly out, and stick a little plastic cool whip or similar plastic container under there to catch the shavings when you drill, youll need access to the inside thru the big hole anyway, to put on the locknut to hold the fitting

What stacked 97 said. Got to have the big hole open anyway. Also if you use a variable or stepped drill bit, the shavings come out the top real good. I agree with a lot of others on here. I hate getting fuel and want all I can get in there and not take 20 minutes doing it. Also like accurate checks of fuel mileage. Whoever is on the fence, do it, you will be happy you did.

This is what I will use for mine
looks to be a very nice piece for a lot less money, of course you have to come up with a cap for the stock vent and some 3/4" hose witch is no big deal. IMHO

A little trick I was told about topping off the tank. You guys probably know this one. If you are at a hose nozzle that will go slow, lower the handel lower than the end of the nozzle so the fuel comes up and out of the nozzle, this will remove all the foam bubbles and the tank will fill to the top. Done it, works great but got to have a slow valve on the hose.

DONE!!!I also did the roll over vent mod while the tank was down. All I can say is WOW ! this thing works . I put the nozzle in and when it shut off I added about a gallon of fuel and it was into the neck, 37.5 Gals. I now look forward to filling it, exactly the same every time I fill up.

I'm confused... I'm not sure if the 2007s have this issue any longer... My fuel light came on right by the filling station tonight... put 30.5 gallons of Diesel in... i tried to put more fuel in after the pump shut off, but it was clearly coming out of the fuel neck, everytime I added... no way was I putting 5 more gallons in...

is it possible that they changed the tank in 2007?

Was it coming out of the fuel neck, OR the fuel neck vent on the side?

It looked like the neck to me...

I can't imagine the engineers would program the light to come on when there was less than a gallon left in the tank... Like I said, I pulled over about 3 miles after the light came on and i filled up with over 30 gallons...

Now are we thinking the tank is actually 40 gallons but fits 34 due to the vent issue?

Long beds hold about 34 according to the specs and with this kit you can get an easy 39 into it.I'm not sure on the short beds. Also there is no more click, click, click shake the truck, try again.Let it go ,when it clicks off, top it off into the neck and your done, you put the same amount in every time you fill up.And I also seen pictures of the kit being installed on an 07,so I would believe the problem is there as well.I would do it again in a minute, the best 2 hours and 45 bucks I spent on my truck in awhile.
