Talked to a prospective CTD owner today.

He wanted my input on Dodge CTDs. I told him my first choice would be a clean '03 like mine. But since that would be fairly hard to find, I said to try an find a new '06 with a 5.9. I didn't realize you could still get an '07 5.9

I told him I would not recommend a 6.7 to a friend!!!

He was also thinking of cheaping out on the trim. I told him get no less than an SLT and go Lariat if possible.

Did I do good?

There may still be the odd one or two on a lot somewhere; best bet would be to look for an '06-07.5 with low miles and clean body.

Up to '07.5; >07.5 they switched to 6.7's.

Overall, yeah! Keep in mind...I tend to latch onto the little details, and the why's for the details.

Hmm an 03,I got lucky and a buddy of mine does the car auction thing and thats how I got my truck,he does not deal with junk and looks before he buys.

Maybe you could find some small dealer that does the same most will give you a killer price becuse they know it's a fast sale, not going to sit on there lot for months.

Go to the action with him and look over it,check for codes ect ect.

There is a dealership in TX that still has 97 ( Ninety-Seven) 07 5.9's sitting on the lot!!! The price has actually gone UP on them due to people trading in their 6.7's on them!!

He called today, the HAPPY owner of an '05 QC SWB 2WD Auto. He says he was doing 1900rpm and showing 20.2. He came from an '01 gasser 1500 that got 16ish and under 10 pulling his 25' Bumper Tow TT. I told him 17's towing should be within reach.

Incidently, what tranny does he have? I guessed 48RE....
