Can anyone reccommend a good TailGate Lock?

Thanks,

I have the $30 Bully lock. I was not impressed when I opened it up. I received it as a gift. It's all plastic and cheesy. I believe I could break it if I lifted hard enough on it, but it might just break the handle and not the lock inside, so it might deter someone.

I think I read about it somewhere, but I'd love to have one that locks and unlocks with your door locks. Half the time I leave the truck running, get out to throw something in the bed and the gate is locked and my key is on my truck key ring.

I have a Pop-n-lock electrical tailgate lock tied to the driver side door. This is the second one I've owned. No problems with it. On the '05 I did have a little problems identifying which wire to tie it into since my was bilt in late '04. It took me about 1/2 to do the install & clean up.

plessm,

I have been looking at the Bully. I don't like the fact that it locks the handle, and as you stated, it can be broken. I am looking for something that locks the release in the tailgate, but allows the handle to move normally, but not be engaged with the release in the gate. Once unlocked, then the handle actuates the release in the gate to open.

tesla440,

I like the idea of the Pop and Lock tied to the Driver door.

Does it allow the handle to move when locked? Comments on Fit / Finish?

Thanks,

Stealth

I put in the pop-n-lock. Just the standard one which basically doesn't allow the handle to move. It seems to be decently made, but probably a deterant or will just slow someone down a bit. Not sure if its "bullet proof".

My Pop-n-lock works fine, plenty of room for the larger fingers...
