Anybody know of a tailgate lock that actually works for the 2003 HD trucks? Tried a pop n lock but it would not lock the handle. Looking for a keyed one to go with my roll tonneau. Thanks<br><br>Paul<br>'03 2500 quad 4x2 H.O/6spd

 

pop n lock had one for the 2002 1500's... don't know why it wouldn't work with an '03 heavy duty... ??? Ain't it the same body style??<br><br>Tony

 

Saw both manual and electric in the JCWhitney cat. Don't know if available for '03?

JC Whitney doesn't include '03 model. All other years here

 

I installed the electric lock from pop-lock it works of you power door lock button. 8) Unit was easy to install and works great. Truckstuff or truck usa. or any where they sell roll covers and the such have them. Just an idea.

 

I may have to go the electric route but would rather not if possible. Don't know why the pop n lock wouldn't work but installed per instructions (by myself and two other accessory installers) and if you pulled on the handle hard it would open. Then it jammed the handle in the open position. We had to cut the pop n lock out with sidecutters. Saw the Bully ones and was hoping someone knew of that type for the '03. My ol Ford (sorry hate swearing) had one from the factory. Going to take the back off the tailgate tomorrow and see if I can install a cylinder if nobody has any leads for me. Thanks<br>Paul

I think what they consider 2002 - Current is actually the '02 1500 new body style and up... I remember that because I selected that one, but then called them and they said I actually needed the other part number because my '02 was old body style... : It's a pretty slick product... I like it..<br><br>I can only imagine what the fiance says about me...

 

I have a Pop &amp; Lock on my '03 and it is garbage. Right after is was installed I went home and proceeded to open the tailgate. Apparently it was locked but it opened anyway. I played around with it for a while, but it does not work very well. If you pull hard it will still open. The one for the '03 Dodge just 'clips' onto the tailgate latch and there is no bolts or anything. The one I had for my Chev bolted right to the tailgate and worked great. I am going to take this new one back and get the electric one. Should work pretty slick with the keyless entry.<br><br>
